Subject: Get ready to stand and clap!
If you don't clap, you'll be shouting hooray! None of us could have imagined hiring a more perfect attorney to help us protect Maha'ulepu. Attached is a copy of the extremely well written and well developed comments filed by Charlie Tebbutt, Esq. today, on our behalf. Even though our attorney has said it better than any of us ever can, please make some comment yourselves, so that the State and HDF have a sense of the large number of concerned members of our community that are ready to stand up and protect our precious Maha'ulepu. Your comments do not have to be long, they can be brief. Just make your voice heard, and do it now, postmarked by this coming Monday, February 23rd, 2015.
For those who attended last nights meeting/Dairy Open House, you will no doubt agree that the evening was not very informative. Instead, those holding black sharpie pens wrote down concern after concern on large pads of paper. Were they trying to persuade those who attended that letters were no longer necessary to write? Let us not rest! Just write one or more concerns that you feel "need to be addressed and answered by the EIS." Please add that phrase and mail it in to the addresses that follow. Please do it by Monday, after that date it will be too late. Call if you need help. There are people who have offered to help members of the community with their letter preparation. There are 13 topics/criteria attached to this email to give you ideas for areas of concern. Do not worry about repeating concerns that you've heard or read others raise. Just state your concerns in your own words, and it will assure that the State and Dairy have to give you notice of everything that happens on this issue in the future phases of the EIS.
